Spending a Gift Card in Shop and on the App
At the till, hand over the card or show the barcode on your phone and the amount comes off the balance. Anything left stays on the card for next time. If the order costs more than the balance, staff take the difference on cash or a card, so a part spent gift card never goes to waste.
Adding the card to the Greggs App wallet is the move most people miss. Once it sits in the App you can check the balance without asking anyone, and it works with Click + Collect, so you can order a breakfast on the walk in and pay with gift card money. The one place cards do not reach is delivery through Just Eat or Uber Eats, since those orders settle inside those apps.
Practical Tips Before You Buy
Register digital cards in the App wallet straight away so a lost email never strands the balance. For office collections, one card per person beats a single shared card, because balances cannot split across separate orders at the till.
Check the amount against what the person actually eats. Someone who calls in for a coffee and a sausage roll most mornings gets more out of £20 than out of a single large gift, since the card just quietly covers the routine.
